Project Stories
Jiuqu River “Serenity Villa”This project directly addresses the core challenge of Chongqing’s mountainous architecture -limited daylight and a humid environment. Guided by the philosophy of “Living Toward the Light,” it deeply integrates architectural transformation with lighting design, redefining the spatial soul of this 1,500㎡ villa.

The design revolves around three key principles: Introducing Light, Shaping Light, and Integrating Light. By transforming the original square lightwell into a circular one, natural daylight is maximized and softened, creating a “Vertical Light Courtyard” that extends through all levels of the residence, from basement to upper floors. The staircase is sculpted into a flowing form that guides both light and sightlines. In the underground spaces, innovative use of glass curtain walls and reflected daylight transforms natural light into a serene interior landscape.

The lighting system perfectly responds to the diverse needs of open social spaces, immersive courtyard experiences, and tranquil private retreats. Through concealed, scene-oriented lighting, natural materials are accentuated, supporting a lifestyle that resonates with nature and embodies the spirit of a peaceful mountain residence.

Ultimately, light transcends its functional role as illumination and becomes a medium connecting architecture, nature, and the human spirit, realizing the ideal of “Creating a Realm Through Light.”

YUESHUIAN · Light Poetry Retreat “Light Poetry Retreat” is a benchmark villa lighting design project located in Chongqing, covering an area of 1,200 square meters. Centered around the philosophy of “Let Light Become the Poet of Space,” the project completely redefines traditional lighting logic, elevating light and shadow themselves into the protagonists that shape emotions and narrate the passage of time.

Through the extensive use of concealed linear lighting, indirect illumination, and natural light filtering techniques, the design creates a cascading “Waterfall of Light” in the double-height living room, establishes a sense of ritual in the dining area through candlelight, and achieves a healing, enveloping atmosphere in the bedrooms through a main-light-free approach. Movable shoji screens and wooden lattices become “filters” and “frames” for light, sculpting rich layers of light and shadow that transform daily living into a tranquil ritual of dialogue with light itself.

Ultimately, the space transcends the concept of a physical residence and becomes a spiritual sanctuary where time slows down, and the mind returns to serenity, demonstrating how light can become the most luxurious and therapeutic material in a high-end private residence.

Parkroyal Collection Marina BayThe project involves the remaking of the Neo-futuristic American architect John Portman’s spectacular hotel, which was built in 1987. The existing hotel offered the ideal stage for the reinvention of the atrium hotel by bringing the garden into the atrium.
The interior architectural lighting concept that Light Collab introduced into the common spaces of the hotel, helps to enhance and highlight the ambiance and elements of the interior architectural features. The interior lighting also creates more focus and emphasis on the lush gardenscape. Our interior architectural lighting design also involves conceptualizing the overall lighting in the reception and atrium space, in addition to the landscape lighting. The lighting in dining areas was also designed at ambient levels, allowing the greenery to take center stage.
